The Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno | Dolomites is pleased to collaborate with the Municipality of Treviso for the activation of Christmas initiatives, which, as emphasized by President Mario Pozza, enhance the attractiveness of the beautiful city and bring joy to residents and tourists alike. This synergy, consolidated over the years, has promoted local identity while strengthening the economic and cultural fabric. The collaboration will continue through a renewed agreement that foresees the sharing of new projects and innovative initiatives to make the Christmas season a special occasion for social gathering, hospitality, and promotion for the entire community.
The Enchanted Christmas returns to Treviso, the most awaited event of the year is back, bringing shows, concerts, markets, and light installations to the historic center and the neighborhoods. At Palazzo Rinaldi, the program was unveiled, which will bring Christmas magic from November 23 to January 6. The Christmas events are promoted by the Municipality of Treviso in collaboration with the Treviso-Belluno Dolomites Chamber of Commerce, Confcommercio and Confesercenti Treviso, Veneto Imprese Unite, along with the valuable support of CentroMarca Banca, Alì Supermarkets, and Bralco Office Furniture.
There will be no shortage of water illuminations, the “luminous path,” and the installations at the Loggia dei Cavalieri. New this year is the Christmas market in Piazza Rinaldi, enhanced with music and events. Following the great success of 2023, school choirs will also return with Christmas concerts.
The Enchanted Christmas will officially kick off on Saturday, November 23, at 16:30, with the inauguration of the Enchanted Loggia and the lighting of the illuminations. This year, the Loggia will shine in its most splendid attire, adorned with pines, green and gold decorations, and cheerful characters. The first school concert will follow, featuring students from the “Ciardi” School of Treviso.
Under the Loggia and in Piazza dei Signori, families and children can find a mailbox for letters to Santa Claus and take Christmas-themed photos under the Enchanted Loggia every Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 18.00 in the village of Piazza Rinaldi.
Tree Lighting Ceremony. On Sunday, December 1, at 18.00, Piazza dei Signori will host the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. A special event will feature the monumental fir donated by the Municipality of Brunico and decorated thanks to the support of CentroMarca Banca, Bralco Office Furniture, and Alì Supermarkets.
Green Christmas Train. The “green” train, a 100% electric vehicle, will wind its magical route through the streets and squares of the city center from Piazza dei Signori. Until January 6, visitors can ride the train on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and school vacation days from 10:30 AM to 12:30 and from 15.00 to 19.00. From December 8 to January 6, it will also run on weekdays from 15.00 to 19.00.
Carousel and Ice Skating Rink. From November 28 to January 7, the Carousel will be in Piazza dei Signori, while the “Treviso On Ice” skating rink will open from November 23 to January 12 in Piazza Borsa.
Christmas at the Civic Museums. During the holiday season, cultural activities for children and families will include animated readings and workshops to learn art while having fun. The Civic Museums will also remain open during the holidays, offering guided tours at Santa Caterina to explore how Renaissance masters interpreted the Nativity, from traditional Madonna and Child images to the Adoration of the Magi and Shepherds.
Treviso X-Mas Run. On December 15, the Treviso X-Mas Run, a non-competitive 5 km walk through the city, will feature participants dressed as Santa Claus. The race will start at 10 AM from Piazza dei Signori and end in Borgo Mazzini.
The Legend of Christmas. On Saturday, December 21, at 17.00 in Piazza dei Signori, a fantastic journey by Gruppo Alcuni will take participants to the city’s most evocative places with characters such as the Wizard of Bubbles and mini-pets, alongside challenges to stop the Witch Cornacchia.
Other Events. From November 29 to December 1 and December 20 to 22, the RICreazione Market will be held in Piazza Battistero, showcasing items made from recycled materials. On November 30, at 11.00, the Christmas Village in Piazza Rinaldi will be inaugurated with gastronomy and crafts.
On Saturday, November 30, at 11.00, there will instead be the opening ceremony of the Christmas village in Rinaldi Square, including food, wine and crafts. This will be followed by “Teddy Bear” on the Run, a traveling parade through the streets of the City, and a Christmas concert by Duo Duende (from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.). At 17.00, under the Loggia dei Cavalieri, there will be a Christmas choir by students from Treviso’s “Valeri” school. In Piazza del Grano and Piazzale Burchiellati, there will be the “Mercato al Pomeriggio,” with games, music, and meetings that will enhance Saturday’s central market with a photo exhibition (at the Umberto I Cloister in Borgo Mazzini), Urban Trekking (departing from Piazza Ancillotto), DJ Set at Porta San Tomaso (at 13.00), and a family treasure hunt (at 15.30).
From Nov. 30, the Mammart Market, featuring ceramics, sculptures, sewing and gifts, will also start. Other events are scheduled for Dec. 14 and 15 and Dec. 21-24.
On Sunday, Dec. 1, in addition to the chance to meet Santa Claus, there will be musical entertainment with a special “Musichelfo” in Rinaldi Square while at the Buranelli Bridge there will be the “Christmas Strings” in concert, violins and guitar in a folk spirit.
Instead, from Dec. 6 to 8, Arts & Bio, among organic items and products, will return to Independence Square.
On Friday, Dec. 6, at 20.45., at the Santa Caterina Auditorium, the curtain will rise on Christmas Songs, with Bruno Cesselli and Francesca Viaro, curated by Treviso Suona Jazz Festival (info: www.trevisosuonajazz.it, cell. 349-5758756, admission €16).
Christmas fairy tales will be the focus of the “Santa and Mother Christmas” event, while from 14.30 to 17.30 the “Musichelfo” will return to the streets of the City. At 17.00, under the Enchanted Loggia, the “Voices of Besta” will warm up the atmosphere with a Christmas concert.
On Sunday, December 8, it will be the turn of Natale in Borgo, the exhibition market organized by the Merchants and Artisans of Borgo Cavour and Via Canova. The exhibition will be repeated on Sunday, Dec. 15 and Dec. 22. In the afternoon, starting at 2:30 p.m., there will be traveling stilt-walkers through the streets of the center, musical entertainment with Blue Bells at the Buranelli Bridge, while at 4 p.m. a concert by the Six Gospel Choir Carol of the Bells is scheduled. At 17.30, under the Enchanted Loggia, the “Getsemani” Choir from Treviso will perform.
The following week, Saturday, Dec. 14, it will be the turn of the Coast Riders Trio’s rock and roll (from 14.30 to 17.30), and the concert of the “Masaccio,” “Volta” and “Stefanini” schools, at 17.00, under the Knights’ Lodge.
On Sunday, Dec. 15, in addition to Christmas in Borgo Cavour, there will be Christmas fairy tales with Santa and Mother Christmas (who will return on Sunday, Dec. 22) while from 14.30 to 17.30, “Christmass and Riff Green” will perform at the Buranelli Bridge. Throughout the day, the historic center will feature the BUB Street Band. From 16.00 to 18.00, however, space will be given to tradition and folklore with Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem by the Pastoria del Borgo Furo, departing from Cathedral Square. At 16.30, at the Sant’Anna Theater, the Some will present the puppet show while at 17.30, at the Old Church of St. Lazarus, there will be the VIII Review “Christmas Prayer in Song,” the concert of sacred polyphonic music held by the Valsile Polyphonic Choir.
Choral singing will also be featured on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 20.30, at the Church of St. Agnes, with the Christmas Harmonies of the “Voci d’Oltrefiera” choir, and on Friday, Dec. 20, at the Mario del Monaco Municipal Theater, with the Benedict Gospel Choir Christmas Concert, between spirituals, soul and Rythm & Blues (info: biglietteria.teatrodelmonaco@teatrostabileveneto.it, tel. 0422-1520989).
On Saturday, Dec. 21, the Books in the Lodge festival will take place, among old and unobtainable books, while at 16.00 the Pastoria del Borgo Furo will offer “Ciarastea,” an event with Christmas carols. Christmas choirs will also enliven the heart of the City at 15.00 and 17.30 with the students of IC2 Serena and the “Manzato” Music Association Choir. At 8:45 p.m., the day will close with the “Edelweiss Choir” in the temple of St. Francis.
In the neighborhoods, at Fair, from Dec. 21, the Traveling Theater “Abracadabra magic show” will also start.
On Sunday, Dec. 22, in addition to the shows in the village in Rinaldi Square, there will be stilt walkers in the streets of downtown and the show of the musical duo composed of Rita Bincoletto and Diego Vio at the Buranelli Bridge. At 16.30, at the Sant’Anna Theater, the Nutcracker, a show with music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, will be staged (info: live.alcuni.it, tel. 0422-421142, admission 6 euros).
On Monday, Dec. 23, in University Square, space for Arteven’s animation with the tale “The Ice Queen” in a special castle (info: arteven.it, segreteria@arteven.it).
On Christmas Eve, in addition to the opportunity to greet Santa Claus under the Knights’ Lodge, it will be possible to participate in the Bigoli and Music and Fantaghirock event (from 14.30 to 17.30), while “Spin and Sing,” interactive musical entertainment, will be featured in the afternoon through the streets and of the City. At 15.30, starting from Tezzone Street, the Living Nativity, by the Borgo Furo Shepherd’s Workshop, will start.
New Year’s Eve. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, starting at 22.00, there will be the Wonder Company Great New Year’s Eve Party with Radio Company deejays alternating with a live band among fun, music and gadgets. The party will continue on Jan. 1, at 21.00 with the Grand New Year’s Concert at the Mario Del Monaco Theater.
Epiphany. From January 2 to 6, there will be an exhibition of Sweets and Befana Stockings, while from Saturday, January 4, to Monday, January 6, the “Sporta della Marantega” will be held in Piazza Indipendenza, a market exhibition dedicated to the Epiphany with sweets and Befana stockings. The RICreazione market in Piazza Battistero will also feature Epiphany-themed goods.
On Saturday, January 6, at 16.00, the Befana will arrive under the Loggia dei Cavalieri, while at 17.00, the Epiphany Concert will be held at the Santa Caterina Auditorium, featuring sacred and Christmas music.
Christmas Readings. From December 12 to 20, there will be Christmas readings at the Children’s Library.
On Thursday, December 12, there will be Christmas readings by the ABiBRaT readers, dedicated to children aged 4 to 11. This will be followed at 17.30 by the lighting of the Christmas tree in the library’s garden, with traditional hot chocolate offered by the Alpine Club.
On Friday, December 13, at 17.00, there will be Christmas readings in Spanish by the Mammalingua readers.
On Monday, December 16, at 17.00, the activity “Quattro pieghe e tre tagli” will take place, a small workshop for children aged 8 to 11. On Thursday, December 19, the language readings will return, with an English-language workshop, also organized by the Mammalingua readers.
On Friday, December 20, the ABiBRaT readers (children aged 4 to 11) will entertain younger audiences from 17.00, while on Saturday, December 21, at 10.30, the session will be dedicated to newborns.
On Monday, December 23, Christmas Eve Eve, the “Elf Parade” will be held, organized by the Secolare Ambasciata Elfica del Polo Nord, an event produced by Teatro Che Pazzia (free event with reservations: 0422-658993).
Guided Tours. Thanks to the IAT Treviso Centro, guided tours will be organized to discover the wonders of the city. Starting on Saturday, November 23, and Saturday, November 30, with “Per le vie infuocate del mistero” (at 4:00 PM), a guided tour for the Veneto Festival with mystery performances focusing on the themes of Air and Earth. On Saturday, December 14 and 29, and Saturday, January 4, there will be the tour “Treviso Città d’Arte e d’Acque” (at 15.30), a guided visit along the waterways of the city center (cost of visits: €8 full price, €6 reduced). On Saturday, December 7, at 14.30, as part of the “Boschi a Natale” series, there will be a guided tour of the Fiera district, where the Sile River plays a leading role (info and reservations: IAT Treviso Centro, Piazza Borsa, 0422-595780).
Most Beautiful Shop Windows. As part of the Enchanted Christmas, there will also be a social media contest dedicated to the most beautiful shop windows, market stalls, and Christmas decorations.
The Way of Nativity Scenes. From December 26 to January 6, the “Way of Nativity Scenes” will return, a magical route through the city’s main churches displaying monumental nativity scenes: the Cathedral, Church of Sant’Andrea, Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, Sant’Agnese, San Francesco, and San Nicolò, in collaboration with the volunteers of the “Chiese Aperte” Group coordinated by the Office of Sacred Art of the Diocese of Treviso.
Christmas in the Neighborhoods. In the neighborhoods, there will be solidarity markets, lighted trees, singing performances, and community moments. The Municipality of Treviso, with a focus on social responsibility and environmental sustainability, has decided to provide financial support for many of the Christmas activities organized by local Parishes.
