The Awards Ceremony of the 7th Ideas Competition for schools “B2Youth: attention to others” and the awarding of the 4th edition of the “Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award” was held in the Chamber of Commerce. The event was opened by the video greeting of President Mario Pozza, who was on a mission in New York and greeted the children with these words: Dear boys and girls, welcome to the Chamber of Commerce, the home of business. Today the focus is all on you and we are really proud to award your projects. Our territory, our Italy needs this energy, we are at your side. Keep working with commitment and dedication so that this country will continue to be admired and desired.
The Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno is at the service of its territory and the economic realities that enrich it with their innovative ideas, technologies and choices oriented to a more sustainable economy.
This particular attention to a 360-degree sustainability characterizes in a particular way the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno, which in 2024 will also celebrate 20 years of activity of the “CSR Services – Environment,” a point of reference in the Veneto region that has always offered services, events and calls to support, inspire and replicate virtuous examples in our territory.
Two of the long-established activities concern the “Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award” and the “Ideas Competition for Schools,” now in their 4th and 7th editions, respectively, which recognize a cash prize for the implementation of “socially responsible” projects.
The Chamber has decided to award the winning projects, carried out by businesses and schools within the framework of these two specific calls, in this joint event, which aims to represent a further moment of “transgenerational exchange and sharing of ideas,” in support of a more sustainable economy and world, where sustainability can only be one that embraces all three “pillars”: economic – environmental – social.
A “winning” entrepreneur – points out Chamber of Commerce Deputy Secretary General Francesco Rossato – is not only the one who has an idea and knows how to implement it, but is the one who is attentive to the needs of others: of his employees, of his territory, and more generally of his stakeholders. The values of each entrepreneur characterize each company, and values have been growing with us since our school years.
This is also why the Chamber of Commerce believes in the importance of initiating and maintaining a dialogue with the entrepreneurs of today and the “entrepreneurs of tomorrow” and why it continues to organize initiatives, such as these.
As part of the Competition intended for businesses, this year the Chamber of Commerce received 27 projects from companies and, for the first time, some ex aequo prizes were awarded, arriving at 7 local entities from Treviso and Belluno.
On the Chamber website and on the web portal dedicated to CSR, forms have been published summarizing the main characteristics and economic impacts of these 7 companies that are here today and that we will get to know at the time of the award ceremony.
As for the schools, on the other hand, an extra effort was required and the goal of “B2Youth: Attention to Others” was to conduct video interviews with companies, an ambitious request that brought out the commitment of students and teachers.
Again, on the same morning, both the winning schools and the 9 companies interviewed were presented and awarded prizes, which the Chamber of Commerce thanks for opening a dialogue by accepting the students’ request to be interviewed.
The wish we can make for all of us – comments Deputy Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce Francesco Rossato – is to continue growing by walking, each on its own path of continuous improvement, towards sustainability, and we are sure that our paths will intertwine again, because the target, is the common goal to ensure the sustainability of our Planet.
The Chamber will also do this by continuing to develop new services and enriching those already in place, including: paths to approach the implementation of the sustainability Report and gender equality, participation in system projects on Energy Transition, etc.
To conclude – Rossato says – I just remind you that the Chamber of Commerce is not only what you see today, but much more: it provides a multiplicity of services to companies, aspiring entrepreneurs and schools that cannot be summarized in a few minutes; services that are usable, in presence and remotely, because as is often the case, in times of crisis, some technological solutions have also been adopted that have made it possible to maintain constant access to the Institution, even in pandemic situations, guaranteeing the performance of activities and the improvement of some services.
